Another mystery plant!

This just appeared and grew at a rapid rate! It had lovely bunches , like hanging grapes, of little pink flowers which have now been turning into soft berries. Thank you.

Lycestria Formosa.... I think?  (spelling may be wrong)

  • Leycesteria formosa  commonly known as Himalayan honeysuckle.  I find it's best grown as a coppiced shrub.

Often grows from seeds spread by birds.

  • Thank you, it's been a puzzle! Taken over the garden though!

  • Cut it hard back ... right down to the ground in late winter / early spring.  That'll keep it under control image

  • Thank you for the advice, I will as it's crowding out some other poor shrubs, do like it though.

I'd say it's pronounced  " lay sist e ria" but I might well be wrong.
