Can you compost cat litter &, if so, what kind of car litter is best?

I wouldn't want to compost the faeces of any carnivore and then use it on my garden. I don't think it's advisable.
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
I use cat litter for my house rabbit, I use the Fullers Earth type, that goes in the compost heap and disappear.
