Please identify this plant

Does anyone know what this plant is - its a volunteer (i.e. I didn't plant it). About 2 feet tall, violet flower with a white centre. Strongly veined large leaves.

    Strangely, I'd never actually seen one of these plants until this week when we visited a gardens where they were growing in their walled veg garden, then, some one on our site offered seeds so I'm going to grow it next year. I like it, some dont.

    Gardening on the wild, windy west side of Dartmoor.

     Really?? thnx v much. A weed? I like it, more please.

    Near bird table may explain its appearance.

    Is it toxic??

    Did you try those seeds. I like the plant but note it produces large seed pods and spreads like a FIRE STORM. Oops.
