I'm going through my parents in law's new garden & I came across the below but have no idea what it is!

    It would help to see the foliage too but that flower spike looks like one of the verbascums to me - phoenica group?  Colours varying from white thru pink to purple and self sow happily.

    Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.
