Help Identify this plant? Possibly Bay
Hi - can anyone please help me identify this plant?
It looks similar to a bay tree but is huge bush. I've only bought my house recently and this was hidden away and i just noticed the leaves look similar.
Thanks for you help.

The leaves in picture one certainly look like Bay leaves to me. It looks extremely healthy. If you pick and crush a leaf, the smell should tell you whether it is a bay or not.
Bay
i have one too. Yours looks lush.
Thanks for both for your replies! Its a massive bush. I had a small one in my old house and didn't know it could grow so big! So was surprised it was so big and unsure if the same.
Great news now as can use for cooking!
Thanks!
I agree that it looks like a bay. Have you tried the leaves yet? Very curious myself, it does look very lush and beautiful in leaf.
If you have only just bought your property, you have not seen how it grows over a period of a year. There is a small possibility it could be Pittosporum Undulatum. You mention it being very large in size. If you are in a mild part of the UK, this shrub could thrive and grow quite fast. They are quite adaptable and not fussy with soils. There should be small white flowers followed by small orange berry-like fruits that usually go by mid summer if it's a Pittosporum.
