Pine identifying

Hi everyone.  Have had this pine in my front garden since we moved in and wondered which is was.

  • Looked it up and the berries look right but my tree is much more compact than the pictures I saw. Do they grow very slowly?

    It's a golden yew as pansyface says. They are quite slow growing, and they keep that columnar shape, but can be pruned if you want it to staysmaller.

    Taxus baccata 'standishii' is it's name.

    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

  • That explains it as it is about 25 years old and about 8 foot tall! ?

  • Thanks pansyface and fairygirl. Now I know I'm not doing anything to slow it's growth and it's happy where it is.
