Copper Beech Roots
Hi, I have moved to a new property in which there is a beautiful, mature copper beech tree, however the trunk is a couple of feet from an oak framed car port which is set on a brick wall with supporting foundations. I am concerned that the root system of the copper beech will damage the foundations of the brick wall on which the car port is built. Can anyone advise if my concerns are real or am I worrying unneccessarily?

If they have built such a structure two feet from a mature copper beech, without taking it down first, it may be the beech has a Tree Preservation Order on it. It may damage the foundations. It may not. Time will tell.
I presume that you had the property surveyed before you bought it? And the surveyor raised no concerns?
