Pruning Flowering Cherry tree now

hi, I've just read your answer about pruning flowering cherry trees. You advised June/July.
I'm a bit late, but my tree badly needs to be shortened as it's reaching for the sky far too high.
will it be ok if I do it soon now?

I don't think it is too late. You can prune your tree now if you need to.
