  • I'm just cracking up here......when I joined this forum .....never in my wildest dreams would I have thought that I would be privy to the ins and outs of the lengths of ladies arms image

Did not post many pics of our hols but these are a few of the more interesting finds on the beautiful island of Kos......but I need some expert help to tell me what they are .....the one I do know is the first .....wild artichokes .....the second is something they use in tea or other beverages ???

the third has me completely baffled ...we found this on a remote beach on the Westerly most tip of the island ......not a soul in sight.....we even had a skinny dip.....shock  horror ....it was gloriousimage

The fourth has a rather painful reminder .....this was on the day of my 'toe stub' ....we visited the volcanic island of Nisyros.....we walked down into the crater .......I could hardly walk and a very kind Dutchman gave me his arm to hold onto.....I needed some refreshment after climbing out .....this little beauty decided she need some also image

  • I love the NHS too Hosta image

I do hope it wasn't Spikey image  but I'm sure there are others about ... your area is ideal for them ... don't forget, we lost Hefty (old age?) but now we've several more visiting every night and waking OH from his slumbers by their cavorting on the terrace image

Re the tenants ... don't want to rub it in but .........'I told you so' image  Do you or the letting agents have any of their parents' addresses?  If so, pass them on to anyone trying to get in touch ... they're still young enough for their parents to have a moral responsibility even if they don't have a legal one ... if they know what's going on they may have the 'authority' to bring them to their senses and sort them out before they do irreparable damage to their future lives.

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

  • I used to be able to go into M&S and buy Trousers (and other things) off the shelf that fitted perfectly. Now  my leg length is considered short (29-30) my local outlet does not stock them routinely. In the past their clothes were made in the UK now they are not, the fit is not the same this is true of other outlets as well. I used to consider myself average height (5' 10) now I seem to be short! On that basis I used to be beanpole now I seem to be pea-stickimage   My OH has always had to shorten sleeves or roll them up.

Hosta Sorry to hear about Spikey lets hope it was his cousin you saw.

Well at least M&S seems to realise the population is growing and average heights have increased, unlike the people who design and build ladies loos with those nasty Dyson "blade" dryers carefully positioned so that I, at a mere 5'6.5 inches have to bend to use them.  Not good for dodgy backs.

Pdoc - pigeon defender chappy is clever with all sorts of stuff.  More pics on the Asphodèle- Vendée thread - last garden visited.

Hosta - fingers crossed Spikey is safe or has lots of surviving relatives.   Not too bothered about the idiot tenants' futures but do wonder about what other damage they will go on to inflict on the unsuspecting.

    Lovely moth Dacha.

Speaking of privy - why would anyone (has to be a male) design motorway services "rest" areas with only 4 ladies' loos knowing they're on a major holiday route with coachloads coming in at a time?

    Hope you fix it FG.

Builders are back.  Have I got jump leads cos the digger has gone to sleep?   The only ones I can find are attached to a battery charger for the lawnmower and just a bit too teeny.  Plan B then.

Much queuing!  Doesn't help either when it's a coachload or even just a minibus full of people in wheelchairs wanting to get to the one loo for them.  Apart from anything else there's a queue in the way in the doorway!
