It looks fine to me and I'm sure the kids will have a wonderful time on it. Just mow it regularly.

The weeds aren't doing any harm.

  • Now is a good time.

    Weed killer and moss killer.

    Then

    Scarify... £80 machine at screwfix.com

A good long day at it.

Huge satisfaction will follow for your new lawn of grass not weed.

Since my husband passed away my 'lawn' has looked more like a wildflower patch and depending on the frequency of mowings either looks green or pretty. My grandchildren don't seem to mind that its only 50% grass and as long as I am vigilant and keep the daisies and plaintains out of the border neither do I. Any weed that starts to look like its taking over I sprinkle bird seed on as pigeons walk rather than hop they scrape them out.

It takes time and dedication to make a 'good' lawn and you only have to look at Wimbledon and the Stadium of Light to see how quickly children can ruin it. I just can't be asked so best ignore me and I hope you are successful in making your lawn image
