My pears are massive this year and ime worried they will all be blown off.is there any way I can use them?

Pears are generally picked unripe and ripen best off the tree in a cool dark place, the timing will depend on the cultivar (variety). You can cook them & freeze them very successfully.
And if you have some under ripe pears, try this ... wonderful with cold cuts at Christmas, or given as presents
