Sloes

Found these in a hedge row today. Can anyone confirm wether these are sloes please? :)image

    They look more like wild damsons to me image

    You can make Damson gin instead of Sloe gin.

    Did the tree have thorns? Sloes are from thorny blackthorn, damsons don't have thorns. Damsons hang down more like tiny plums.

    Damson cheese is nice.  Very intense flavour when it is made with wild damsons.
