Hardy rose for container

Fairly exposed in West of Scotland near coast. Would like to try a rose in a container on patio, as nowhere else in garden gets enough sun. It can be pretty windy at times. Any suggestions for a rose that might be able to withstand these conditions in container? I have been given in the past the small roses that you get in the supermarket but didn't have much success.
