Grey Fungus/Mold/Mildew

Can anyone help?

I have two climbing roses - one cream one pink - no problems on initial growth from winter pruning.  However, in late July/early August second growth on the pink climber arrives with a grey fungus/mould/mildew covering, which stunts the growth of the rose buds. I have sprayed with Rose spray for fungus/mould/mildew but to no avail.

The appearance of mildew is usually a sign of dryness at the roots.  While extra watering now may not  immediately cure the affected plant, bear this in mind for next year and be sure to water well throughout any dry periods such as the long drought many parts of the UK experienced earlier this year.

A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.
