ID plant, is it hazel?

A small conifer I bought came with a tiny interloper. I let it be, and it's now significantly bigger than the conifer. 

I think its hazel, can you confirm?

do all hazels have nuts eventually and at what sort of age? Do I need more than one hazel to get nuts? 

Not sure whether to keep where it is, move it, or get rid.
