Watering acers

I heard recently that I should not use tap water when watering potted acers.

I don't have water butts so am wondering if I should be adding an acidifier to the water.  If so what can I use?

I use best London tap, and haven't noticed a problem.

Let tap water sit for 24 hours before using , the stuff they bung into it evaporates , so no chlorine on your Acer

I think tap water is fine.
