Is it outside? If they are, and it's not warm enough, they can look a bit unhappy. If they're indoors, they can also look like that, but it can be because of moist air and not enough ventialtion.

Possibly needs repotting into fresh compost, or some liquid food. They get a bit poor by this time of year, especially if they're getting lanky. I've just cut all mine back a bit and they'll produce new, fresh growth.

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

I have similar marks on herbs, particularly Oregano and Marjoram.
So I whipped out my (£10) usb microscope to try and see what may be doing it
    I don't think it's thrips.

There were a few of these which look dead -

Then I noticed quite a few of these tiny bugs which are orange and scuttling around. I suspect they're spider mites

Bugs are on everything if you look hard enough. Including ourselves.

As a kid I could spend ages looking at a drop of pond water through a microscope - till it dried up and they all died :)

Better off not thinking or looking for microscopic multi-legged creatures......gives me the heebee jeebees.  But if you want. .....prick your finger and look at the blood droplet through the microscope. ...amazing.
