Shrub Id please

hi all, some help identifying this shrub would be most helpful in getting the right pruning

    It is a birch tree..Betula sp.

    They grow very tall.

    Perthshire. SCOTLAND .

    It can grow to 80ft+. And will never be happy or look right if you try to prune it into a shrub like state. If you do not want to have a tree in that spot, dig it out.

  • ahhh so its a juvenile birch. looks pretty at the moment, will be a shame to dig it out. its next door to a cherry and a plum tree, too crowded.

    about 30 metres away are very tall trees. maybe they are the parents.
