Climbing white rose for small arch
ive been looking at City of York for this purpose. It's a narrow arch and I just want repeat flowering and highly scented, not too much to ask! And white of possible though at this point I think a deep or a light pink will do. The reason I'm hesitating with City of York is that I just found a description saying it is rather thorny and the arch is over and next to steps. Too many thorns might be unwise with the grandchildren, any ideas will be very very welcome, thanks

A friend of mine has Snow Goose for a small arch and it looks lovely. I don't think it's very thorny.
I've heard that Claire Austin can be a bit droopy, flowers a bit heavy.
I had a smelled the rose Claire Austin ar Wisley on Sunday as I had been told it was highly scented. It wasn't nearly as nices ase.g., Poets Corner, which is yellow and. A bush rose so not a contender For that area though I bought it for another spot in the garden.Gorgeous s cent.

I wasn't sure about Claire Austin, so now it's between the other 2.
I have a repeat flowering rambler - Moonlight which gives a lovey display, but not scented and quite thorny
