Apple blossom
To add to the posts about out of season plants,l have noticed a load of apple blossom buds .
A very old apple tree popped its clogs a couple of years ago but last year I noticed live branches coming from the base. I don't know if the tree was grafted.
Anyway, I left it to see what it produced. There is one apple which I will taste later - if something else doesn't get it first.
The tree is now covered in blossom buds so it might be a good fruiter when it grows up - maybe.
In London. Keen but lazy.

Hmmm ... in my experience fruit trees producing blossom at this time of year are under stress, possibly about to pop their clogs, and are having one last throw at reproduction before they keel over.
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Oh well. We've kept the stump of the original tree as it's got the washing line attached so if anything grows from the base, it's a bonus
