Tree help please??

imageimageimageimage

I planted the pictured tree back in late May 2017. We bought it from a reputable nurseries nearby and not long after planting, it got greenfly. I treated the greenfly with a Resolva Bug killer spray but ever since, it seems it's not recovered. No new leaves...nothing.

I've followed instructions on the planting lable and regularly watered, but not too much.

CAN ANYONE HELP??

It's hard to say if this tree is still alive. They can be slow to settle in. But, if you saw the label state its width size, it's not ideal to plant it where you have planted it. Trees are long term plants and you have to plan for its size too. That includes the root space.

Green fly is actually a good sign as it shows growth happening. I'm guessing it's a possible watering issue. Newly planted trees need consistent watering even if there is no canopy. In the spring to summer time, I recommend one whole bucket or more every 4 days at temperatures of 20c. Above that, same one bucket every 3 days until autumn. As long as it's in free draining soil and properly prepared, you will not over-water it. Adding mulch on top helps to minimise changes in temperatures and keep the wet away from the stems.
