'Spores'?

I have loads of black specs all around the greenhouse. They are on the floor, windows, leaves and some on the tomatoes.  I had the same last year and cleaned the greenhouse with jeyes fluid, left the doors open throughout winter to kill anything unwanted off but they have appeared again.  Has anyone else experienced this?

Do you mean thunder flies? Are they living?

  • They are not insects they do not move.  It is just black specs.  The greenhouse is well ventilated and only has growing plants in it.

Not just fly dirts I suppose?

Can you show us some photos please?

Are you heating the greenhouse in any way?

  • I suppose it could be fly dirts but it would be big flies and I am not aware of any.  The greenhouse has had shading on the roof and door open no heating. It is on a self watering system. Some lovely tomatoes and cues but cant believe I have these spots again.  Not sure if I can put photo on but will try.
