dying heather in oregon

Hello everyone,
I live in Portland Oregon. I bought two heather plants that I potted with other plants. The heather vets afternoon sun. After I bought it, we had a week of 100 degree weather which I kept them watered. Then after the week it went back down to our usual 85degree weather. The soil is moist but my heather is brown. Although the two other plants are fine.

It looks a bit of a goner unfortunately. I would give it a light trim , pot it up separately and move in into partial shade and see if it recovers.
