Red cordyline

Hi I have a red cordyline in a pot two others either side. The middle one seems to be dying from the middle. I seem to have a lot of spiders could it be Insect infestation? Any help welcome and thank you

Without seeing a picture I can only assume the middle plants growing point has rotted away .
Cordylines are very resilient ; I had a triple trunked 14' high specimen in my garden which succumbed to the winter of 2009/10 ; completely collapsed !! Cut it off at the base and now forming yet another multi-stemmed specimen all these years later . I wouldn't have thought spiders would be a problem .
