How to get rid of invasive alstroemeria?
I have alstroemeria growing in my front garden that I would like to get rid of. Because it's a North East facing position, the alstromeria grows very leggy and looks awful. The problem is it has spread everywhere. I made the mistake of trying to dig it up but it has just made it worse. Is there an organic way of getting rid of it?

The organic way is to dig it up. I'd do it in the autumn when the soil is damp so you can follow the roots through the soil and try to get every bit.
in the spring dig out the bits that you've missed as soon as you see them shooting, so they don't get the chance to establish.
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Thanks for your reply. I will continue to dig it up then. I'm hesitant to use chemicals.
