Medlar tree

my medlar tree is starting to go yellow/brown, and not as much fruit as normal, I hope it is not dying, but looks unhealthy compared to last year when we had loads of fruit to make delicious medlar jelly.  Can anyone advise what to do, should I saw off the infected branches?
