Tomatoes Problem
Good afternoon.
I currently have x5 'Gardeners Delight' tomatoe plants growing at the moment. I have 2 in tomatoe grow sacks and they both have this strange growth on the stems half way up it. I've never seen this before. The other 3 are in the ground and have no sign of it.
Also this variety all seem to have recently leaf rolled top to bottom but the other variety (red cherry - free with GW mag) I have grown do not have any leaf roll
The second picture - I have tried to cut them off with a knife.
Thanks for reading.

They are called adventitious roots and are nothing to worry about. If the stem fell on the ground as they would do in their natural environment, they would root into the ground. Best leave them be as cutting them just opens a wound which could become infected.
Adventitious roots can form when humidity is high or if the plants are stressed in some way.
Thanks for the reply. Ive never heard of them before but it makes sense.
Id guess it's because of humidity. I havent removed many leaves this year. I keep reading on here that you shouldn't remove them and thought I'd give it a go. Seem to have lots more tomatoes to this year too!
Great news about your tomato crop! I only remove lower leaves when they start to go yellow so are no longer feeding the plant, or if they look diseased.
