Sweet peas with mildew, can I use peas?

EDIT- sorry the title should have said 'seeds' not 'peas'!

Hi all

My sweet peas are covered in powerdy mildew and before I cut them down I was wondering if I could use the seed pods for next year's seeds, or would they also be affected?

Thanks

The seeds should be fine but let them ripen (pods will turn brown and crispy) before collecting them.  If you collect the pods while still green, the seeds will not be properly developed.

A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.
