Remove leaves on Chilli plant, or not?

Do you remove the lower leaves of chilli plants? Would removing foliage help the plant put its energy into its fruit or are the leaves part of the power house of the plant?

Don't remove them, they need all of those leaves. Like tomatoes, the only things which help chillies ripen is warmth and time. I move some of mine to inside windowsills when it starts to get cold and often have chillies ripening at Christmas - they look very decorative!
