Is there a tool available on the market for teasing the roots of pot bound plants ?

    For really awkward situations a lump hammer works well. Superglue is handy if any damage occurs to the pot image

    If it's a plastic pot, roll it on a hard surface and gently poke through the holes with a blunt stick .if the roots are matted underneath, comb through them avoiding the ones than are coming directly out of the holes

    Kitchen fork for small pots, garden hand fork for the big pots. If totally packed with roots, sometimes I just whack them with the side of a trowel
