Bees in my cabbage patch

Hi aimagell ????, I hope everyone is doing okay and your gardens are doing great. I just have a bit of a curiosity question, we get a lot of bees in our garden and I like to sit and observe them. I find it weird that they always stick to one part of the garden, specifically where the cabbage is. I don't understand, because cabbage don't have flowers normally so what are they doing there? One year we let one of the cabbages go to seed and it was bee heaven in my garden, I've never seen so many in my garden before, as we had that year. As you probably noticed this year we gave up the fight with the caterpillars due to work and we decided to just let them eat the cabbage ????.
