Identify this fruit

I am hoping someone will recognise this plum and tell me if it is edible:    image

small yellow plum like fruit l

looks a bit like greengage.. cant seem to post a picture on this forum

    check out Mirabelle plums.

    anything that looks and smells like a plum is a plum, open one up and see what's inside. ?plum stone?

    Lots of little wild type plums about, Bullaces, the Mirabelles Berghill mentioned, there's another name as well that may come to me but not atm

    They are coming to the end of the season now... so must be early variety
