Wasps

Saw an interesting article in Gardener's World recently where they mentioned a way to keep wasps at bay whilst eating or drinking in the garden. During my recent recycling binge, I have misplaced the article!

Does anyone know of the article and more importantly how to keep wasps away whilst eating? Obviously I want them in my garden, just with a little control when we are socialising. :)

I used to put something up the other end of the garden to lure them away when my children were small.....dregs of a jar of jam, plastic cup of sugar water or orange juice, blob of jam on a paper plate might work.

Have tried those citronella candles as an insect repellent, very pretty of an evening, but I'm not convinced how effective they are image.

    Was it the Waspinator? http://waspinator.co.uk/

I've not used them myself, but saw one hanging outside the open kitchen door at a café in the

countryside last year ... I asked the manager if it worked and she said that it was very effective.
