I have an indoor rose - can I feed with Tomorite?
This rose was bought for my birthday as an indoor pot plant, It flowered for about 6 weeks - and has
now got six new flowers and the whole plant looks very healthy! I would like to keep it and wondered if Tomorite would keep it going? I suppose it was meant to only flower once and then be thrown away?!
Please could you advise me I hate to throw healthy plants away and don' think it would survive outdoors as it isn't a patio rose. Thank you.
If Tomorite promotes flowers I cannot see it doing any harm.
Googling also says that Tomorite is just the thing for roses!!!
Those little Roses - given the right growing conditions - will survive quite happily outside. My best friend got a lovely peachy coloured one when she retired - 3 years ago and by putting it into a bigger pot outside with good compost it has thrived and flowered better and better each year. I water all my flowering plants in the greenhouse with tomato food - just because its easier than having two different feeds to mix up.
I agree with Ladybird, they seem to do better outside long-term. I feed all my flowering plants, even indoor cacti and orchids with tomato food and they all seem to approve. I buy just the cheap food from Wilkes or B&M but it does the trick.
