Kerria

Our Kerria looks as if it has blight can anyone tell me if its best to dig it up and start again. It has always been a great plant with wonderful flowers.

Do you have a photograph of it now? These plants are very tough,  so what you see now will not always mean it affect next year's growth. If you have lots of unsightly growth now, it makes sense to prune them off. Remove the worse affected areas, they should rejuvinate next year, provided there is nothing seriously wrong with your shrub. Also, these shrubs can be pruned hard in spring or even straight after the flowering time.

  • Thank you, we have given it a very good prune and will leave it now and see how it responds.

Just to be aware that its quite late to prune now, so may risk not flowering next Spring.
