Clematis cutting

Hi,
Hoping someone can give me some advise on how to overwinter a cutting I took of a clematis earlier this year?
I took the cutting early June and it's rooted, but it's still very small and fragile. I believe it's a Paul Farges Summer Snow, but not 100% sure.
I'm wondering what is the best way of overwintering it? I'm assuming it's still too small (not enough roots) to be planted in the ground? But is leaving it indoors any better? Our winter can get pretty harsh.

It won't need heat but a cold frame or cold GH would be good.
Not in the house, it won't like that
In the sticks near Peterborough
Oh great, thanks for the advice. Off to the garden centre it is then
Little clematis generally just need protection from the worst of the elements - heavy rain and wind, and severe frosts etc. A lot of the time you can just tuck them in against a house wall or similar, shielded reasonably from the rough stuff, and they'll be fine.
I often stick cuttings or young plants among shrubs and other planting in the border, as it gives them plenty of protection over winter, and also from excessive heat - should we ever get that
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Fairygirl, would you leave the clematis in the pot or actually plant it in the ground?
