disappearing carrot seadlings
in Fruit & veg
hi everyone .my partner and i are new to growing fruit and veg .a couple of weeks ago we finished building some raised beds (2 scaffold boards high ) and we planted some autumn carrots .Because of the on off sun and rain we've been getting the seedlings came through in next to no time .We netted the beds because its like call of the wild where we live ( birds, cats, resident badger). Anyway we've noticed slowy but surley the seedlings have started to disappear even to the point where its gone from 3 full rows of seedlings to approx a dozen plants left.Whats strange is that all the netting and soil hasn't been moved or disturbed can anyone help ?.

slugs and/or snails
or maybe mice/voles if they can get through the netting.
It's a common problem

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Yeah, I grow stuff indoors 'til it's a decent size then plant out with copper tape and still gets eaten by the slugs...
