Horse chestnut

B3B3 Posts: 27,505

Driving through Kent and Surrey today and I didn't see one healthy chestnut tree.

They all had brown blotchy leaves or shrivelled leaves.

I hope that they're not going the way of the elm.

It was so sad to seeimage

In London. Keen but lazy.

  • Yes I agree B3 they are such distinguished trees, childhood memories of one in the school playground and also in the car park were hugely popular with the boys and their conker fights.  We have two trees here, and one is very badly affected, the other so far being able to hold it's own, but I do fear for it.

Yes. I think so. There's hope for them then.

Yep, most are the same down here in Berkshire. Very sad, they look so beautiful in flower & fresh green leaf when it's April.
