Summer raspberries after pruning how many new canes do i leave?

Hey

Ive pruned my summer raspberries and have a load of new canes.

Quick question

how many new canes do I leave? is there an ideal number ie 4 - 6 do I think them out and if so what is the spacing or do I just leave them and let them get on with it?

Any answers much appreciated

I just cut out the weedy ones, leaving the strongest. New canes should be about 6 inches apart. Closer than that and they don't get sufficient airflow around them.
