Apples and plums
in Fruit & veg
Am having this trouble with both my apple and plum tree, (this is my first year in the property, haven't had a garden for 20 years ) the apples only seem to suffer when fallen while the plums are like this on the tree so where i can reach i cut them out . Any idea what is causing it ?

Thanks for that, have been trying my best to remove any damaged fruit but not easy due to the size of the trees. Might have to get them pruned back even more later in the year to make them manageable.
Have been checking the trees as often as possible and removing all the affected fruit i can reach, the plums are the worst, yet some of them are ripening nicely and when cut open look fine and taste fine as well. However over the last couple of days some I have cut open to find a small red worm inside so have been thrown out along with the damaged ones. Is this part of the same problem or yet another pest?
