Dahlia leaves being eaten

My Dahlia leaves and flowers are being eaten by something. I can't see anything on the plant but it's all the way to the top of the plant. Any advice would be appreciated.
Life's tragedy is that we get old too soon and wise too late.

I did wonder if it could be those but can't see any slime on the leaves.
They don't always leave visible trails, the sneaky little b*ggers!
