Honeysuckle

Looking for advice on restoring an established honeysuckle on south facing wall. I have tidied up an overgrown honeysuckle but insure if I need to go further in order to bring it back to its best. See photo.

You can hack them back without too many issues. They're tough as old boots. It's a good idea to water really thoroughly afterwards, and add some slow release fertiliser like Blood,Fish and Bone and then a mulch of compost, well rotted manure or bark to help retain moisture.
It might be difficult to keep it moist if it's south facing though. It's not the best aspect for them. If you're planting up the rest of the area, that'll help with a bit of shade down below, but it will also be competition for moisture, so ust keep an eye on that especially in spring/summer
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Many thanks for response I plan to plant up border and have added farmyard manure .Will add BFB as suggested hopefully I will see a good response next year . Thanks again Peter
Moisture retentive soil will be a bonus for it Peter. They get a bit mildewy as the season goes on if they get insufficient moisture at the base, so the manure will really help prevent that.

That's great thanks

Thanks for response. Would this be the best time of year to cut this right back to above soil level.
I have cut the honeysuckle right back
and discovered two types of honeysuckle 1) light green leaf and a smaller very dark green leaf if I'm correct. Can you assist.
Thanks Peter
