Mysterious plant

hi i was wondering if anyone would be able to tell me any information about this plant. My daddy planted this about 15 years ago however this has been the 1st year that it has grown past the size of a shrub and has flowered. As he planted it so long ago he can no longer remember its name or any information about it so any help would be grateful in solving this mysterious plant. Thanks
