My mother in law has given me an almost full bag of ericaceous compost, and I have some dahlias that need potting on. Does anyone know if it's okay for me to use it for them? I could mix it with multi purpose compost?
I'd agree with Pete, Anni. You could mix it with your other compost if you're concerned, but as you're only potting on, they won't be in that compost for along time anyway.
If you're eventually keeping them in pots long term, you'd need something more substantial than just compost, but at the stage they're at, it's fine.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

Dahlias aren't too fussy and will be quite happy in your ericaceous compost

If you need further assurance Anni an article from the RHS which says they're fine in acid/alkaline/neutral soil conditions

And I grow 30+ dahlias every year with great success in my slightly acidic soil
