Can anyone help me identify this shrub?
Cotoneaster horizontalis
not convinced but you're in far too close with the camera. I can't see the shape of the shrub, how it grows
Sorry I was concentrating on the leaves and seed pod. It's quite a tall shrub. Was pruned back by previous owners of house this spring.
Could it be Sophora secundiflora (Mountain laurel)?
I think it's something in that family Katharine but not one I know well enough to be sure about

Probably Sophora microphylla 'Sun King' , one of the hardiest of this genus in the UK .
Thank you Paul B3. I'll look that one up. Trying to decide which shrubs to keep as I change the garden and this was one I wasn't sure about.

Sophora are normally classed as a 'choice' shrub or tree ; preserve it if you can .
