Parsnip problems
in Fruit & veg
Ive grown parsnips in a large barrel and riddled the soil and mixed in some sand so theres no stones whatsoever, and I've just pulled a few up and they're about 4 inches long and twisted I'm not sure what's gone wrong just wondering if anyone has an suggestions.
Cheers

well our soils pretty rich of manure but I didn't add anymore and yeah I just wanted to see what they were looking like, but yeah there still edible
Were the sown in situ? They come out like that if transplanted, otherwise it'll be the soil being a bit too rich.
I don't pull parsnips until the Autumn/Winter, wait until all the green has died down and completely disappeared, Agree, they look like they've been transplanted, better sown direct.
