sick plum tree
in Fruit & veg
I have a mature plum tree which is not looking very well. The trunk of the bifurcates about 6 inches above the ground. We have lived here for 5 years and one half of the tree has always looked "dead" and is covered in ivy. The other half however has seemed healthy and produced a lot of fruit. This year it produced a fair number of flowers but now the leaves are curling and dry and brown and it has only produced about half a dozen plums. We are in the west of Scotland and it has been pretty wet this year. Any advice would be very welcome.

Did you happen to prune it in the damp weather as this would cause silver leaf curl. I have just pruned my two year old tree now as this year it did not flower ( not sure if the house sparrows had something to do with that or the weather)
No - Haven't pruned it at all thanks
