Can anyone tell me what this is please. This year it has gone mad and is very invasive. It has long red and white roots. It has a strange smell. We are trying to dig it up!

Hi, I think it is Houttuynia cordata. This is the plain leaved one and likes a damp soil where it can become invasive.
