Seed dispensers
Bee witched

Morning all,
Typical July summer morning here in Scotland (wet!!) ... so been having a surf.
I'm looking for a seed dispenser for those small tricky seeds it's difficult to space thinly. Has anyone used one ... or are they just a gimmick?
Thanks,

Hello Bee. I had one many years ago and to be honest I didn't rate it. It was plastic and the tiny seeds generated static and tended to stick to the seed dispenser rather than flow out evenly. I used a tip I spotted on GW and that was mixing my tiny seeds with some dry silver sand and then sprinkling the mix onto the compost. The sand helped me see where I had scattered. I got decent germination using this method.
My dear departed dad used to do the same, only with ground rice.
Thanks Ladybird,
Sounds like a good tip.

I use an eyebrow tweezers. .....one with gold coloured tip......if you gently press the side of the tweezers into the seeds one or two will adhere then I press the tweezers onto the moistened compost.....tweezers is dampened for next seed....works for me.....
