    Flower spikes?   Not convinced that's a ficus elastica rubber plant.

    Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.

    Hello Tracey '

    Your 'rubber-plant' is actually Peperomia galioides ; I believe it's a Central American forest dweller .

    Ficus are rubber trees , no way related to yours . It looks a real beauty and you've done well to cultivate it to that standard image ; the spikes which have appeared are immature flower spikes (should be white) .

  • Hi thanks it's was my daughters and I caught her chopping it ! So I took it off her and iv just moved into a new build and it's gone crazy as my others have ?Do you think it will flower?

    Hi Tracey ;

    Think it's in the process of flower production at any time ; should bear white spikes .

  • Shhhhplendid? Thanks

    It is really Peperomia, but I guess Peperomia obtusifolia, American Rubber Plant. It is very interesting, indeed.
